Dining Rooms - Hidden Assets?

During the current trying economic times, we all need to find hidden assets. Now is the time to rediscover your dining room - that place you normally visit twice a year for holiday meals.

If you have recently converted to Wi-Fi, the dining room is now the perfect place for a study center or home office. If you also have a buffet, clear out one drawer for office supplies so they are always handy.

Create a seasonal tablescape. This can be a family project which allows you and your children to show off their creativity. I recommend using a large tray as a base so the centerpiece can be easily removed for mealtime, meetings, or family game night. Tablescapes can be anything from found objects to a Lego creation to seasonal flowers and greenery from your yard.

I know schedules are busier than ever but finding time for family dinner at least once a week is a great way to keep up with everyone. Again, here's where the dining room comes in! Make a simple meal (see recipe below) but turn off the TV and come out of the kitchen and it will seem special!
